***************************************************************************

Beberapa hari kemudian berita baru datang.

Wallahu ta’ala a’laam…ana al-faqeerah ilallah…

Erti Kebahagiaan....

Kenapa aku dijadikan?
Adakah aku hidup kembali?

itulah asas, itulah tiang serinya
Sesiapa yang hidup memikulnya sambil memekik
dengan namanya; dialah orang yang berbahagia…”

Three Required Characteristics for Seeking Knowledge...

Assalamualaikum wbt to everyone...just a piece of reminder for myself and may it benefit you all...Have a read...[A credit to Abu Anas for this nice piece of writing]...may Allah reward you good..Ameen

Tonight, we will begin with a very important and beneficial, Allaah-willing, introduction on the method of seeking knowledge. The reason for this talk is due to the great response and love for seeking knowledge that we see from the youth, may Allaah bless them. However, many of them are not aware of the correct method for acquiring it. How should one seek knowledge? Some of them spend a long time, maybe years, seeking knowledge but they don’t achieve the level that others have achieved during that same amount of time. The reason behind this is due to his lack of adhering to the correct methodology with regard to seeking knowledge. This is the methodology by which if a student of knowledge adheres to it, he will achieve a share of what Allaah had decreed for him – a share that will benefit him; a share that is firm and established, which he will be able to convey to others in a clear and doubt-free manner.

Many of the youth read various writings – sometimes on the subjects of Hadeeth and sometimes on the subjects of Tafseer and Fiqh. They listen to and attend the gatherings of the people of knowledge. However, when they go back and examine themselves – i.e. those who have attended lectures for a year or two – they find that they have not fully understood the subject matter presented to them. Or perhaps they find that they have not acquired a lot of knowledge from this. Their attendance of lectures and lessons has not provided them with a well-founded basis of knowledge, which they can use as a way and method to follow and judge by. The reason for this is due to the lack of adhering to the correct method for seeking knowledge.

So a student of knowledge must follow a clear and defined methodology when seeking knowledge. If he fails to do so, he will divert from the correct path, which is why we see that many of them get fed up and impatient with knowledge. They spend years studying, but then grow weary and tired and eventually give it up. Then some more years pass by and they go back to being regular common folk or reciters – something they never expected. So we would like for the new up and coming student of knowledge to abide by two characteristics:

First: He should adhere to the method of education that those people of knowledge before us adhered to, and due to which they became scholars, after having treaded upon this way.

Second: He should be prepared to sacrifice all of his time to seeking knowledge. And he must not get fed up with it regardless of what the situation is.

In his book “Al-Jaami’ Li-Akhlaaq-ir-Raawee wa Adaab as-Saami’”, Al-Khateeb Al-Baghdaadee reported: “One of the students of Hadeeth used to crave and yearn for seeking knowledge. So he would visit the elder teachers and sit in their gatherings. Then when some time had passed, he saw that he had not benefited at all and that he had not attained a great deal of knowledge. So he said: ‘I am not fit for this knowledge” and gave it up, since he thought that there was something wrong with his understanding or that he was not qualified for seeking knowledge. One day, after he had left off seeking knowledge for some time, he passed by a rock that had water falling on it, drop by drop. The continuous dripping of water had affected the rock to the point that it had made a hole in it. The man stood there for a while, contemplating and reflecting, and said: ‘This water, in spite of its softness, was able to have an effect on this rock, in spite of its hardness. And my mind and heart are not harder than this rock and neither is this knowledge any softer than the water.’ So he became determined to go back to seeking knowledge, which he did and excelled at. And he later became one of those referred to with regard to it.”

This shows you that a student of knowledge needs determination. He should not get tired and say: “I have studied and not learned anything!” Rather, he should go back to the cause. The cause is not found in his natural disposition. With regard to most of the youth or most of those who set out to seek knowledge, the cause is not that they don’t understand. Many of them do understand, but the reason why they are not able to acquire knowledge is because they have not followed the correct path and methodology, which produced the people of knowledge that came before us. This path is simple and easy, and it is easier than the paths that many of the people take today.

Once this point becomes clear, the following important question should come to mind, which is often repeated and which many of the youth continuously ask, and it is: What is the correct way for seeking knowledge? How should a student of knowledge follow this way in accordance with the methodology that will enable him to become a (true) student of knowledge and have the ability to study, if Allaah grants him success in that? This is an extremely important question. Attending the gatherings of knowledge has many benefits to it – the greatest of which is that the student of knowledge comes out from these sittings fully understanding the subjects presented to him such that he is able to make others understand what he has understood.

First: The student of knowledge must have the following necessary and binding characteristics and attributes in his quest for attaining knowledge:
  1. The first and greatest of these characteristics is that he must be sincere to his Lord when seeking knowledge. This is since seeking knowledge is an act of worship and the angels, as stated in an authentic hadeeth, lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of contentment for what he is doing. So this act of worship must be done sincerely for Allaah’s sake in order for it to be accepted and blessed by Allaah. This means that one should not seek knowledge in order to achieve some worldly position. One should not seek religious knowledge – knowledge of the Qur’aan and Sunnah – for the sake of status or to be heard or so that he may become a teacher or a lecturer or famous or so that he can give lessons and so on. Rather, his intention behind seeking knowledge should be to worship Allaah and remove ignorance from himself. This is so that he may worship Allaah upon knowledge and clear insight.

So therefore, being sincere in seeking knowledge means that (1) one’s intention is for the sake of Allaah and not to attain some worldly position; and that (2) one intends to remove ignorance from himself. Imaam Ahmad was once asked: “How should one have sincerity with regard to knowledge?” He replied saying: “Sincerity in knowledge is that a person intends to uplift ignorance from himself. This is since a person with knowledge and a person that is very ignorant are not equal.”

Allaah says: “Is one who is obedient to Allaah, prostrating himself and standing in prayer during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of His Lord (like one who disbelieves)? Say: Are those who know equal to those who don’t know?” [Surah Az-Zumar: 9]

And He says in Surah Al-Mujaadilah: “Allaah will raise those who believe amongst you and those who were given knowledge many levels.” [Surah Al-Mujaadilah: 11]

So Allaah has given preference to those who have knowledge over those who don’t. The person who seeks knowledge in order to worship Allaah upon clarity and to remove ignorance from himself and so that he can live his life in accordance with what Allaah has legislated – this is the one who is truly sincere (in his search for knowledge). He is sincere because his intention was for the sake of Allaah. His intention was to free himself from being a follower of desires and from being ignorant and a blind follower.

Sincerity is the first of these conditions and the primary characteristic and attribute that the student of knowledge must have. The proper characteristics and attributes one should have are many, such that numerous books and writings, big and small, have been authored on them. However, we will only mention from those characteristics, those that concern us in this discussion.

Second: One must apply gentleness and proceed in a slow and calm manner in his search for knowledge. This is since the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) informed us, in general terms, saying: “Verily, Allaah loves gentleness in every affair.” Seeking knowledge falls under this in the general sense. The Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) also said: “Gentleness does not enter something except that it beautifies it.” Knowledge and studying fall under this.

What does it mean to “apply gentleness?” It means that one should not seek to achieve knowledge all at once, as Ibn Shihaab Az-Zuhree, the famous Imaam from the Taabi’een, once said: “Whoever seeks to attain knowledge in one shot, it will leave from him in one shot. Rather, knowledge is to be sought with the passage of days and nights.”

A poet elaborated more on this understanding, saying:

“Knowledge today and tomorrow the same, By doing this a man will attain wisdom, Through choosing knowledge, which is to be gathered, Since a stream is nothing more than a collection of droplets.”

So gentleness is something that is required. But how is this gentleness to be applied? It is by not desiring to attain knowledge all at once, i.e. in one shot. For example, a person wishes to gain knowledge of Tafseer, so he goes and reads the “Tafseer” of Ibn Jareer. The Tafseer of Ibn Jareer contains all aspects of Tafseer. So this person has sought to attain knowledge all at once. It is not possible for one to “start” and “finish” the Tafseer of Ibn Jareer. And if you were to ask him a question regarding it, nothing from the Tafseer would stick to his mind except for a small portion. He remembers that he read this and that he read that. But he will not be able to properly explain to you the meaning of a verse in the manner that is necessary. So then how is this gentleness to be applied? It is by seeking knowledge in gradual stages – this is the way that must be adhered to.

Likewise, we have the example of a man who intends to study the Science of Hadeeth, so he goes to the book “Nail-ul-Awtaar”, and begins with that, or he goes to “Fat’h-ul-Baaree” and says: “That’s it. I finished one chapter from Fat’h-ul-Baaree.” You should know that this type of person will never achieve the level of understanding that the people of knowledge are upon. He may become well-versed or an informed reader having scattered bits of information. But this is not the knowledge that serves as a foundation and which afterward will propel the one who has it to the level of a scholar, if Allaah so grants it.

The same goes for Fiqh. What have you read concerning Fiqh? He says: “I am reading “Al-Mughnee” or “I am reading the “Majmoo’ (-ul-Fataawaa).” It can be honestly said that this person has not applied gentleness in his search for knowledge. He has sought to attain knowledge all at once. “Al-Mughnee” and “Al-Majmoo’” as well as the other larger works – the only ones who should preoccupy themselves with the (Fuqh) issues contained in them are the people of knowledge. As for the beginning student of knowledge, he should not read it from beginning to end. No doubt, he will at some point need to conduct research on a specific issue, in which case he will have to refer to the larger works. However, he should not read these books thoroughly as if he were reading through a novel.

Also, from the requisites of gentleness is that a student of knowledge should not preoccupy himself with the complex intricate issues. This is since, if while seeking knowledge, he preoccupies himself with intricate issues and complex subjects, he will eventually forget it and never acquire knowledge. The reason for this is because he has not established the proper foundation by which he can understand these complex and intricate (Fiqh) issues. Some of us go to classes that deal with extremely complex issues in which the students spend numerous long years and still have not finished it or they spend months on just one chapter alone, and so on, and they think that they have acquired knowledge. No. This is not the correct way since they has have not applied gentleness. And Allaah, the Mighty and Sublime, says: “But rather, be you Rabbaaniyeen (learned men) because of your teaching the Book and studying it.” [Surah Aali ‘Imraan: 79]

Concerning the part of the ayah: “Be you Rabbaaniyeen”, Abu ‘Abdillaah Al-Bukhaaree, may Allaah have mercy on him, interpreted it by saying: “The Rabbaanee is he who nurtures the people using the smaller aspects of knowledge before the bigger ones.” So this person who is well-versed in knowledge and teaching is he who raises the people upon the smaller aspects of knowledge before the bigger ones.

It is honorable for an instructor or student of knowledge, when teaching, to mention everything he knows about a specific issue. After preparing his lesson, he should mention everything that he remembers on the subject. This is an honorable characteristic. However, this is not beneficial for the one who is teaching since he is reviewing what he knows. The person with knowledge should only deliver what the audience needs. He should not deliver to the audience that which is over their level.

So one must apply gentleness – How should this gentleness be? The reply to this will come when we explain the correct method of seeking knowledge, and that is by seeking knowledge in stages.

Third: He must be persistent in his search for knowledge, giving it the dearest and sweetest parts of his time, and not the dead and lifeless parts of it. So if an individual reserves for knowledge and classes the times in which his mind is exhausted and his understanding is weak, he has opposed the correct method of seeking knowledge and is not being sincere to himself.

So therefore, you should give knowledge the best moments of your time, in which your mind is clear, strong and unoccupied. However, this will only happen if there is something else accompanying it. And that is when the student of knowledge is engulfed in knowledge day and night. He wakes up in the morning with knowledge filling his mind and he passes the evening in the same manner. His life revolves around knowledge.

When he wants to sleep, he has a book next to him, which he may need to reference for a particular (Fiqh) issue. This is why some of the scholars say: “If you see the books of a student of knowledge neatly arranged in order, then know that he has abandoned (reading) them.” If you pay an unexpected visit to a person and enter his library to find his books neatly arranged – each book in its proper place – this means that he does not look into them. There is no book on the floor, nor is there any book beside him, and if he has a table, there are no books on top of it – this indicates that he reserves a particular time for “reading”, as done by some hired educators. There is no such thing as ”study time” for the student of knowledge! This is because all of his time is spent in seeking knowledge. In the morning and in the evening, his mind is preoccupied with the various issues of knowledge.

The best period of time in a person’s life in which he can acquire knowledge is in the period of his adolescence. This is when he can devote all of his time to it. He should distribute his time for the various aspects of knowledge, leaving the best portions of it in which his memory is strong to the sciences that require the mind to be overworked, such as the sciences of Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Fundamental Principles (Usool), Grammar (Nahu) and so on. As for normal times, he should reserve that for subjects that do not require his mind to be overworked, such as the subjects of Interpreting the Qur’aan (Tafseer), Narrations (Hadeeth), Terminology of the Hadeeth (Mustalah) and so on. And the times in which his comprehension is at the weakest level, he should use for reading books on etiquettes, books on narrators, the biographies of narrators, history and so on – general learning.

So he is constantly preoccupied wherever he is. He is always busy with seeking knowledge. No amusement or company can deter him from that. This is why we see that the biggest mistake that some who think that they are students of knowledge commit is that they spend long hours in gatherings engaged in he said/she said talk and speech that does not result in knowledge. He will not become a student of knowledge this way. Rather, he will become something else depending on what he preoccupies his time with.

As for the student of knowledge, then his hopes, desires and aspirations are all preoccupied with seeking knowledge. The gathering in which there occurs discussions on seeking knowledge and a clarification of what Allaah has revealed in His Book or what the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) has stated – this is the place in which one can open his heart and broaden his mind. Or it could be in a place of education or in a place where there is an explanation of the knowledge that Allaah revealed. This is the place where the heart finds ease and relaxation.

So therefore, from the required characteristics that a student of knowledge must have is that he constantly engulf himself with knowledge. He should not give knowledge some of his time. Rather, he should give all of his time to it or a portion of it, such as the period of his adolescence – the period in which it is easy for one to acquire knowledge. This is why some of the predecessors would say: “Give knowledge all of yourself, and it will give you some of itself.” This is since knowledge is vast and its aspects are numerous and diverse. This is why when one of the Imaams of Hadeeth was on his deathbed, he would still be narrating hadeeth, telling his scribe to write it down – knowledge that was obtained even in a situation such as this.

This shows you the extent of his sincerity, following (of the Religion) and the fact that his heart was engulfed in knowledge. When Imaam Ahmad was suffering from his final sickness, at times, he would feel pain and groan out loud. So when one of his students came and heard him, he narrated to him with a chain of narration from Muhammad bin Sireen that Anas bin Maalik (radyAllaahu 'anhu) used to consider it detested (makrooh) to groan. After that, he did not hear Ahmad groan again until he passed away.

This mentality on the part of the student and the teacher is that which will enable the student of knowledge, through the Grace of Allaah, to become a scholar in the future, if Allaah wills. And this is the mentality which will enable him to benefit and cause him to always be preoccupied with knowledge – day and night, he is learning. He should not look down upon a point of benefit that comes to him by way of someone that is young in age or old in age. Some people receive points of benefit from individuals that are younger than them (in age and knowledge), and so they feel arrogant towards him or they don’t give that point their full attention. The reason for this is because they have elevated themselves over the knowledge. And when one elevates himself over knowledge, he will not be from those who are able to acquire it.

Rather, a younger or smaller person may have some knowledge that an older or bigger person doesn’t. And likewise one who is younger or smaller may understand some aspects of knowledge whereas one who is older and bigger may not. But if he explains it to him, he should benefit from it. The scholars have mentioned a clear example for this, which is the story of prophet Sulaymaan and the hoopoe bird. Even though the hoopoe bird was lowly in terms of stature and composure and Sulaymaan was elevated in terms of stature, composure and position in the sight of Allaah and before all of creation, the hoopoe bird said to him: “I have grasped knowledge of something that you have not grasped. And I have come to you from Saba’ (Sheba) with certain news.” [Surah An-Naml: 22]

So the hoopoe bird knew something that Sulayman was unaware of. The people of knowledge have derived from this story that you should not be arrogant with someone that brings you a point of benefit (from knowledge), regardless if he is young and lowly or old and prominent.

These three characteristics are extremely important for the student of knowledge. There are other characteristics besides these, as I mentioned before to you, which you should look up in the books that were written about this subject.

The Nobel Prize....

Tapi seandainya it’s the other way around, maka kerugian besarlah bagi kita… [Riwayat Ahmad]…semoga kita semua dipelihara Allah darinya…Ameen.

Suka untuk ana kaitkan entry kali ni dengan The Nobel Prize Award. In The Nobel Prize Award, the winner for that year will be announced in front of other world class scientists. It’s going to be very competitive and only the best among the best would be granted the prize. Ana pun kurang periksa kenapa Australians are prone to inflammatory bowel disease…tapi ana assume sebab dietary intake mereka. Allahu a’laam..Untuk makluman , entry kali ini agak panjang. Harap antum semua dapat bersabar untuk membacanya dari awal hingga akhir (if you really have some spare time). Thank you in advance for your time.

Sedikit info tentang sejarah The Nobel Prize (ana copy and paste je ni..takperlah kot..sebab tak perlu sign plagiarism sheet…hehe)

The Nobel Prize

Every year since 1901 the Nobel Prize has been awarded for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and for peace. The Nobel Prize is an international award administered by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1968, Sveriges Riksbank established The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Each prize consists of a medal, personal diploma, and a cash award.

Australian 2005 Nobel Prize Winners

Barry Marshall and Robin Warren received the prize in 2005 for their discovery in 1982 of the Helicobacter pylori bacterium which causes stomach ulcers and gastritis.

A summary from the Press Release concerning the achievement in Medicine and Physiology:

This year's Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine made the remarkable and unexpected discovery that inflammation in the stomach (gastritis) as well as ulceration of the stomach or duodenum (peptic ulcer disease) is the result of an infection of the stomach caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori.

Robin Warren (born 1937), a pathologist from Perth, Australia, observed small curved bacteria colonizing the lower part of the stomach (antrum) in about 50% of patients from which biopsies had been taken. He made the crucial observation that signs of inflammation were always present in the gastric mucosa close to where the bacteria were seen.

Barry Marshall (born 1951), a young clinical fellow, became interested in Warren's findings and together they initiated a study of biopsies from 100 patients. After several attempts, Marshall succeeded in cultivating a hitherto unknown bacterial species (later denoted Helicobacter pylori) from several of these biopsies. Together they found that the organism was present in almost all patients with gastric inflammation, duodenal ulcer or gastric ulcer. Based on these results, they proposed that Helicobacter pylori is involved in the aetiology of these diseases.

Even though peptic ulcers could be healed by inhibiting gastric acid production, they frequently relapsed, since bacteria and chronic inflammation of the stomach remained. In treatment studies, Marshall and Warren as well as others showed that patients could be cured from their peptic ulcer disease only when the bacteria were eradicated from the stomach. Thanks to the pioneering discovery by Marshall and Warren, peptic ulcer disease is no longer a chronic, frequently disabling condition, but a disease that can be cured by a short regimen of antibiotics and acid secretion inhibitors.
**************************************************************************

Kalau ana rujuk kamus yang ada di sisi ana sekarang ini, “Nobel” is defined as “morally good or generous in a way that is admired.”

This is a bad sign...we were very worried that the disease will come back again....we prayed so hard that it will not relapse after 2 years Khalid in remission...The doctor let him went back home just for the weekend and gave him Prednisolone (steroid) to suppress the production of white blood cells... Buton Monday, despite of the steroid his WBC still increasing...up to 50...

The doctor took the blood again and observed it under the microscope...and Khalid was confirmed to get the disease again, but now it manifest as a leaukimia...I'm very sad...kesian Khalid...Besarnya ujian Allah...lagi sebulan he's going to take SPM that was delayed for 2years...he is going to be 19 this December and still haven't finish school...Sepuluh Akhir Ramadhan we've got to use it sangat2...banyakkan doa...semoga Allah sembuhkan Khalid...and Sumayyah too...Last Tuesday...he'd started the chemotherapy back...again...induction treatment for 1month...Adriamycin and Vincristine....raya kat hospital lagi this year...

I adore your family very much. I pray that I can have that ‘bi’ah solehah’ as your family and instill it to my own family members..inshaAllahu khayr

Wallahu ta'ala a'laam..
Ukhtil mukhlisah,

Tiada Lagikah Cinta Di Palestina?

Dulu, suatu ketika
Tanah itu pernah menjadi tempat diri berbakti
Tidak tandus, tidak juga gersang
Subur mewangi
Bersama dedaunan dan bebunga mekar
Limpahan rahmat Ilahi pada buahan zaitun
Subhanallah, serba indah dan damai

Tapi kini
Semuanya bagaikan mimpi di siang hari
Bumi yang dulunya penuh barakah
Kini hanya dengan sekelip mata
Hancur musnah
Lantaran kerakusan manusia berhati mati
Tiada tergambar perikemanusiaan
Insan kecil dan lemah
Bagaikan tiada harga
Diperlakukan dengan penuh kezaliman
Di manakah hilangnya kuntuman cinta mereka?
Kerasnya hati mereka…nurani bersalut noda

Tidur lena bukan lagi menjadi pilihan
Bermain ria di padang hanya tinggal kenangan
Masakan tidak!
Saban hari saban waktu
Gegendang telinga sakit dan perit
Menahan bunyi dentuman senjata buatan manusia
Kelopak mata tiada lekang mengalirkan deraian air jernih
Tangis, sendu, hiba dan pilu
Jelas terpancar di rona wajah
Dek perbuatan mereka yang penuh superior
Yang cemburu tidak tentu hala
Kerna melihatkan kesenangan insan lain
Pada mereka
Kegembiraan sebenar adalah kesengsaraan ummat Islam
Keagungan mereka
Adalah kehancuran sebuah kehidupan
Zionis la’natullah
Betapa hinanya peribadi
Jijik dan jelek
Bilakah sampainya hari penyesalan?
Persoalan yang masih terbuku
Mungkin ianya mustahil sama sekali

Wahai Zionis
Apakah maknanya semua ini?
Tidak cukupkah lagi melihat keperitan mereka?
Selama 58 tahun hidup dalam ancaman
Hari ini yang berlalu
Belum tentu kesampaian hari esoknya
Pun begitu,
Mereka terus mereguk rahmat
Merengkuh harapan
Dari Sang Pencipta yang Maha Kuasa
Membina keyakinan
Bahawa kebenaran pastikan menang
Dan kebathilan kan lenyap jua
Biarlah masa menentukan
Namun, itulah realiti di bumi sana
MashaAllah, tegarnya mereka
Kentalnya semangat perjuangan mereka
Wira-wira kecil Palestina
Para syabab yang merelakan diri dinobatkan syuhada’
Kagumku pada mereka
Tak tergambar ketabahan diri
Menempuh liku-liku hidup
Demi meneruskan sisa-sisa perjuangan silam

Sering hati ini terdetik
Bilakah datangnya saat indah itu?
Bilamana bumi itu kembali hidup
Anak-anak kecil berlari bebas
Raut wajah mengukir senyum kepuasan
Gelak dan hilai tawa menghiasi panorama
Hati-hati kembali subur dengan haruman cinta
cinta yang disandarkan pada Ilahi
yang lahir atas keimanan yang utuh
bukan rapuh bak ranting kecil
ku masih keliru dan sangsi
kerna ianya menagih seribu pengorbanan
namun kupujuk jua diri ini
cuba merungkai persoalan di hati
tiada lagikah cinta di Palestina?

The Prophesy Of The Utter Destruction Of The Yahood Will Only Occur At The Hands Of The True Worshippers Of Allaah

**************************************************************************************

The following is a summarised version of the heart warming, hope instilling prophetic reminder, by the esteemed Shaykh Saleem Al-Hilaalee may Allaah preserve him and grant him and his teachers a high level of Paradise:

Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) says:

“And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture, that indeed you would do mischief on the earth twice and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant!

So, when the promise came for the first of the two, We sent against you slaves of Ours given to terrible warfare. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes. And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled.

Then We gave you once again, a return of victory over them. And We helped you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in man power.

(And We said): "If you do good, you do good for your ownselves, and if you do evil (you do it) against yourselves." Then, when the second promise came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to make your faces sorrowful and to enter the mosque (of Jerusalem) as they had entered it before, and to destroy with utter destruction all that fell in their hands.

The one who ponders over the introductory verses of Soorah al-Israa’ (the earliest and is one of the most beautiful Surahs, described as The Prophet's treasure) shall take note of wonderous observations. The verses confirm that the future battle facing al-Islaam shall be with the Jews and that victory shall be for the Muslims.

Some of the scholars of tafseer have stated that these verses are discussing ancient events and past occurrences and extinct populations. We find that these verses are not commented on by any authentically reported hadeeth from the Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and there are no authentically reported statements from as-salaf that can be relied upon regarding these verses.

The verses establish that Bani Israel shall be the cause of two separate instances of corruption. If the two instances of corruption were to be understood as past events that have come to an end, then we look back at history and notice that they have produced numerous instances of corruption, not just two. What is prophesised here is that they shall carry out two MAJOR instances of corruption that are far greater in deviance to all the previous acts of corruption that they have performed beforehand. As such, Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) has let loose upon them those who punish them due to their corruption. They have been vilified by numerous peoples throughout the annals of time; from Babylon, Persia, to the Byzantines. This is also supported by 'Abdullah Yusuf 'Ali in his english translation of The Holy Qur'an that "the two occasions" might be referred to as "twice" (a figure of speech for 'more than once', 'often'). Or it maybe that the two occasions refer to:

  1. the destruction of the Temple by Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar in 586 B.C., when the Jews were carried off into captivity.
  2. the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus in A.C. 70. after which the Temple was never rebuilt.

There is no historical evidence to indicate that Bani Israel was granted a return with victory over those who vilified them. Yet we see that the verse states that Bani Israel was given a return over them (enemies) and given victory after what they shall face following their first corruption.

The Shaykh then explained that some of the words used in the verses including the words “…you would do mischief..” indicated that the two major instances of corruption will take place AFTER the revelation of the verses to Muhammad (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

It was also said in The Tawrah that the Jews would spread mischief twice.

Allah says:

(And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning.)(15:66), meaning, We already told him about that and informed him of it.

The Shaykh then continued:

The rulers and people who cursed and defamed Bani Israel in the past were disbelieving polytheists. How can it be believed that Allaah (Subhanahu Ta’ala) would describe them, “…Slaves of Ours...”? This description is only used to depict a worshipping, believing and sincere people.

The first major occurrence of corruption was when they, as a result of their treachery and hatred, attempted to assassinate the Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and broke their covenant to him while trying to incite the surrounding tribes into battle against him. Their audacity reached the level where they finally declared that to worship an idol is better than accepting the call to Tawheed of Muhammad (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam). The Messenger (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) prepared an army and faced those who betrayed him and was victorious over them. They left the Arab Peninsula never to return. The remaining Jewish tribes at Khayber were eventually expelled by the illustrious, rightly guided Caliph ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (Radiya ‘Llahu 'anhu). He purged the lands of Islaam from their adulteration and impurity.

According to Ibnu Kathir, (So, when the promise came for the first of the two) meaning the first of the two episodes of mischief.

(We sent against you servants of Ours given to terrible warfare.) means, `We unleashed soldiers against you from among Our creatures who were given to terrible warfare,' i.e., they had great strength and weapons and power. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes, meaning they took possession of your land and invaded the very innermost parts of your homes, going between and through your houses, coming and going freely with no fear of anyone. This was the promise (completely) fulfilled. The earlier and later commentators differed over the identity of these invaders. Many Isra'iliyyat (reports from Jewish sources) were narrated about this, but I did not want to make this book too long by mentioning them, because some of them are fabricated, concocted by their heretics, and others may be true, but we have no need of them, praise be to Allah. What Allah has told us in His Book (the Qur'an) is sufficient and we have no need of what is in the other books that came before. Neither Allah nor His Messenger required us to refer to them. Allah told His Messenger that when (the Jews) committed transgression and aggression, Allah gave their enemies power over them to destroy their country and enter the innermost parts of their homes. Their humiliation and subjugation was a befitting punishment, and your Lord is never unfair or unjust to His servants. They had rebelled and killed many of the Prophets and scholars. Ibn Jarir recorded that Yahya bin Sa`id said: "I heard Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib saying: `Nebuchadnezzar conquered Ash-Sham (Greater Syria, including Palestine), destroying Jerusalem and killing them, then he came to Damascus and found blood boiling in a censer. He asked them: What is this blood. They said: We found our forefathers doing this. Because of that blood, he killed seventy thousand of the believers and others, then the blood stopped boiling. This report is Sahih from Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib, and this event is well-known, as he (Nebuchadnezzar) killed their nobles and scholars, and did not leave alive anyone who knew the Tawrah by heart. He took many prisoners from the sons of the Prophets and others, and did many other things that would take too long to mention here. If we had found anything that was correct or close enough, we could have written it and reported it here. And Allah knows best. Then Allah says:

((And We said): "If you do good, you do good for your own selves, and if you do evil (you do it) against yourselves.'') As Allah says elsewhere:

(Whosoever does a righteous good deed, it is for (the benefit of) himself; and whosoever does evil, it is against himself.) ﴿45:15

The Second Occurrence Of Corruption

Ibnu Kathir commenting on another second occurrence of corruption as:

Then Allah says:

(Then, when the second promise came to pass,) meaning, the second episode of mischief, when your enemies came again,

((We permitted your enemies) to disgrace your faces) meaning, to humiliate you and subdue you,

(and to enter the Masjid) meaning, Bayt Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem).

(as they had entered it before,) when they entered the very innermost parts of your homes.

(and to destroy) wrecking and inflicting ruin upon it.

(all that fell in their hands.) everything they could get their hands on.

(with utter destruction. It may be that your Lord may show mercy unto you) meaning that He may rid you of them.

(but if you return (to sins), We shall return (to Our punishment).) meaning, if you return to causing mischief,

(We shall return) means, We `will once again punish you in this world, along with the punishment and torment We save for you in the Hereafter.'

(And We have made Hell a prison ﴿Hasir﴾ for the disbelievers.) meaning, a place of permanent detention, a prison which cannot be avoided or escaped. Ibn `Abbas said, "Hasir here means a jail.'' Mujahid said, "They will be detained in it.'' Others said like- wise. Al-Hasan said, "Hasir means a bed of Fire.'' Qatadah said: "The Children of Israel returned to aggression, so Allah sent this group against them, Muhammad and his companions, who made them pay the Jizyah, with willing submission, and feeling themselves subdued.''

(9. Verily, this Qur'an guides to that which is most just and right and gives good news to those who believe, those who do righteous deeds, that they will have a great reward (Paradise).) (10. And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful torment (Hell).)

The era of Prophethood and the rightly guided Caliphate that followed it came to an end. The Muslim Ummah began to stray farther and farther away from Al-Qur’aan and fell into dissension and partisanship. This condition generated weakness and stripped the Ummah of its strength.

While the Muslim Ummah was in a state of heedlessness and irreligiousness the tatter remnants of Bani Israel organised themselves and began to flourish and regain strength. Eventually they brought humiliation, destitution, and restrictions and poured punishment upon the Muslims. The Zionist expansion grew with the aid of Communist manpower (European Jews) and Capitalist monetary reserves. The Jews suddenly became a formidable force and attained grandeur never before achieved by their predecessors.

The Jewish nation took root in Palestine [after Britain decided to give it to them as a nation] in the midst of numerous Muslims, plentiful in number but as insignificant as the froth on the surface of the ocean. A person may ponder over the fact that the Muslim nation numbers in excess of one billion persons, greatly outnumbering the Jewish nation comprised of a mere few million. We understand that the number of Jews is greater than the number of sincere, pious, firmly grounded believers. Surely, the struggle is between al-Firqah an-Najiyyah - those people adhering to the Truth, and the adherents of Falsehood regardless of their locality, ethnicity and colour or language.

Furthermore, their (Bani Israel) description being numerous is speaking of the platoon of troops who will set out in battle against the believers. It is well known that the Jews have eclipsed the Muslims in terms of strength, training, weaponry and military readiness. All of this authenticates the words of Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) , “…and made you more numerous in man power.”

We establish that the second era of corruption has begun and remains ongoing. Is there greater deviance than setting the Masaajid wherein Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) is worshipped ablaze? Is there greater deviance than tearing pages from the Qur’aan and stepping on it? Is there greater deviance than to break the bones of, and murder, women, elderly men and children?
Is there greater deviance than to openly declare war against Islaam and those who call to it? Surely, these are all indicators of the greatest types of corruption.

All the different initiatives that have been put forth to solve the Palestinian Muslim Arab-Jewish conflict have all failed miserably since this matter is with Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) and not by the directives of the UN or other councils.

Before us today we find an unending stream of evidence proving that the Palestinian issue is seen as a worthless issue that is being traded around and passed around from one side to the other without seeking to bring about a just solution that is appeasing to all. The Zionists strategy will not stop extending its malicious hand, gesturing peace, while simultaneously plotting extermination of those it is courting. This has always been the attitude of the Jews, past and present. Therefore Muslims, especially those of Palestine, should wake up from their deep extended slumber and regain the adherence to the Truth that they once possessed.

The Jews shall NEVER have peace of mind or feel secure, or arrive at the level of safety that they seek. This is a dream that shall remain unfulfilled because they do not seek to extend the same to others. All attempts at seeking to facilitate this unattainable peace shall end in failure. They shall continuously be under siege as has been ordained by Allaah as He has said:

“And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment.” [7:167]

We recognise that this return to grandeur [of the Jews] shall be short lived, by the leave of Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala). When Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) speaks about the destruction of Bani Israel after the second occurrence of corruption He uses the letter “faa” to imply that soon afterwards after their return to grandeur, their destruction shall come about. The faa indicates that it is a short, defined period of time wherein they shall gather in the Holy land and assemble uniformly so as to meet their demise together at the hands of the soldiers of Allaah from the ‘Ibaad ur-Rahmaan.

These pious slaves of Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) shall be those who have realised in themselves and societies servitude to Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) alone. On that day the Believers shall rejoice with joy in the victory of Allaah.

The future is for Islaam. A future that is bright and full of promise.

Wallahu ta'ala a'laam...may Allah stable our heart in His Deen...Ameen...

"Whosoever introduces in Islam an innovation, & holds it to be something good, has indeed alleged that Muhammad (PBUH) has betrayed his message! Read the saying of Allah:'This day I have perfected your Religion for u, completed My favor upon u & I have chosen for u Islam as yr Religion'.So that, which was not part of the Deen at that time cannot be part of the Deen today! & the last part of this Ummah cannot be rectified, except by that which rectified its 1st part." - Imam Malik ibn Anas (al-i'tisham)

Zionist Quotes!!!

Assalamualaikum wbt to my lovely brothers and sisters in Faith..may this entry reach you in the best state of Eemaan and health...Ameen

Subhanallah, what's happening to our brothers and sisters in the Middle East? It's too devastating, infuriating, etc....I believe you guys can describe it better than I do..

Below are some of the Zionist Quotes towards Muslims...particularly in Palestine..please read the entire qoutes...they are really too much!!...If we were to consider The International Jews, a book written by Henry Ford (he's a Jew!!!), there are a lot of things being revealed out about their propaganda and hidden agendas...so please, my dear brothers and sisters...let's be a bit more sensitive on this issue...let's play our own role...inshaAllah, khayr...

David Ben Gurion (Prime Minister of Israel1949 - 1954,1955 - 1963)
************************************************************************

"We must expel Arabs and take their places." -- David Ben Gurion, 1937, Ben Gurion and the Palestine Arabs, Oxford University Press, 1985.

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."
-- David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.

"There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?"-- Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp. 121-122.

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."
-- David Ben Gurion, quoted in The Jewish Paradox, by Nahum Goldmann, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1978, p. 99.

"Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves ... politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves... The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country."-- David Ben Gurion, quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky's Fateful Triangle, which appears in Simha Flapan's "Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

"If I knew that it was possible to save all the children of Germany by transporting them to England, and only half by transferring them to the Land of Israel, I would choose the latter, for before us lies not only the numbers of these children but the historical reckoning of the people of Israel."-- David Ben-Gurion (Quoted on pp 855-56 in Shabtai Teveth's Ben-Gurion in a slightly different translation).

Golda Meir (Prime Minister of Israel1969 - 1974)
****************************************************

"There is no such thing as a Palestinian people... It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn't exist."-- Golda Meir, statement to The Sunday Times, 15 June, 1969.

"How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to."-- Golda Meir, March 8, 1969.

"Any one who speaks in favor of bringing the Arab refugees back must also say how he expects to take the responsibility for it, if he is interested in the state of Israel. It is better that things are stated clearly and plainly: We shall not let this happen." -- Golda Meir, 1961, in a speech to the Knesset, reported in Ner, October 1961

"This country exists as the fulfillment of a promise made by God Himself. It would be ridiculous to ask it to account for its legitimacy."-- Golda Meir, Le Monde, 15 October 1971

Yitzhak Rabin (Prime Minister of Israel1974 - 1977, 1992 - 1995)
*********************************************************************

"We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said 'Drive them out!"-- Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.

"[Israel will] create in the course of the next 10 or 20 years conditions which would attract natural and voluntary migration of the refugees from the Gaza Strip and the west Bank to Jordan. To achieve this we have to come to agreement with King Hussein and not with Yasser Arafat."-- Yitzhak Rabin (a "Prince of Peace" by Clinton's standards), explaining his method of ethnically cleansing the occupied land without stirring a world outcry. (Quoted in David Shipler in the New York Times, 04/04/1983 citing Meir Cohen's remarks to the Knesset's foreign affairs and defense committee on March 16.)

Menachem Begin (Prime Minister of Israel1977 - 1983)
************************************************************

"[The Palestinians] are beasts walking on two legs."
-- Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, "Begin and the 'Beasts,"' New Statesman, June 25, 1982.

"The Partition of Palestine is illegal. It will never be recognized .... Jerusalem was and will for ever be our capital. Eretz Israel will be restored to the people of Israel. All of it. And for Ever."-- Menachem Begin, the day after the U.N. vote to partition Palestine.

Yizhak Shamir (Prime Minister of Israel1983 - 1984, 1986 - 1992)
*********************************************************************

"The past leaders of our movement left us a clear message to keep Eretz Israel from the Sea to the River Jordan for future generations, for the mass aliya (=Jewish immigration), and for the Jewish people, all of whom will be gathered into this country."-- Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir declares at a Tel Aviv memorial service for former Likud leaders, November 1990. Jerusalem Domestic Radio Service.

"The settlement of the Land of Israel is the essence of Zionism. Without settlement, we will not fulfill Zionism. It's that simple."-- Yitzhak Shamir, Maariv, 02/21/1997.

"(The Palestinians) would be crushed like grasshoppers ... heads smashed against the boulders and walls."-- Isreali Prime Minister (at the time) Yitzhak Shamir in a speech to Jewish settlers New York Times April 1, 1988

Benjamin Netanyahu (Prime Minister of Israel1996 - 1999)
***************************************************************

Ehud Barak (Prime Minister of Israel1999 - 2001)
******************************************************

"The Palestinians are like crocodiles, the more you give them meat, they want more".... -- Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel at the time - August 28, 2000. Reported in the Jerusalem Post August 30, 2000

"If we thought that instead of 200 Palestinian fatalities, 2,000 dead would put an end to the fighting at a stroke, we would use much more force...."-- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, quoted in Associated Press, November 16, 2000.

"I would have joined a terrorist organization."-- Ehud Barak's response to Gideon Levy, a columnist for the Ha'aretz newspaper, when Barak was asked what he would have done if he had been born a Palestinian.

Ariel Sharon (Prime Minister of Israel2001 - present)
*********************************************************

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization, or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands."
-- Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of militants from the extreme right-wing Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998.

"Everybody has to move, run and grab as many (Palestinian) hilltops as they can to enlarge the (Jewish) settlements because everything we take now will stay ours...Everything we don't grab will go to them."-- Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of the Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, Nov. 15, 1998.

"Israel may have the right to put others on trial, but certainly no one has the right to put the Jewish people and the State of Israel on trial."
-- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, 25 March, 2001 quoted in BBC News Online

Kepulangannya ke tanah air…

Bismillahirrahmaanirraheem…

Assalamualaikum wbt along tujukan khusus buat makcik along, Che Ta yang suatu masa dulu pernah bersama-sama dengan along di bumi kering Australia…hampir 9 bulan along menghadapi kehidupan sebagai pelajar bersama dengan ahli keluarga terdekat..Alhamdulillah, atas segala hal.

Terkenang kembali saat pertama kali che ta tiba di bumi kangaroo… setelah menempuh pelbagai dugaan dan halangan..sehinggakan tertunda selama setahun untuk menjejakkan kaki ke Aussie..mashaAllah akhirnya, rahmat Allah mengatasi segala..sesungguhnya along yakin yang Allah sangat mengetahui apa yang terbaik buat diri che ta..mungkin tertangguh selama setahun itu adalah baik buat che ta kerana masa tu mungkin che ta belum cukup bersedia untuk meninggalkan family demi mengejar impian hidup..Wallahu a’laam..hakikatnya along memang tiada pengetahuan tentang rencana Allah, baik pada diri che ta dan diri along sendiri…but we just have to believe it that way…as outlined in the sacred book, Al-Quranul Karim.

“…Boleh jadi kamu membenci sesuatu, padahal ia amat baik bagimu, dan boleh jadi [pula] kamu menyukai sesuatu, padahal ia amat buruk bagimu; Allah mengetahui, sedang kamu tidak mengetahui.” [QS2:216]

Secara peribadi along katakan, jauh di sudut hati along..along sangat bersyukur sebab Allah hadirkan che ta untuk ‘menemani’ along walaupun sebenarnya che ta datang atas urusan buat fellowship di Alfred Hospital…frankly speaking, I adore you dan along kadang-kadang terdetik yang Allah berikan banyak persamaan di antara kita..as if we are having a strong chemistry…memanglah kita dari keluarga yang sama..salasilah yang sama.. but then, Allahu a’laam..we do share some similarities in terms of attitudes, thoughts, etc…I guess you are aware of this as well.

Sekalung ucapan penghargaan dan jazakillahu khayran katsiran atas segala sokongan, dorongan dan kata-kata semangat yang che ta berikan kepada anak saudara che ta ini..along memang akui, once in a while..i will lose my confidence…having sort of a low self-esteem..feeling like there’s no tomorrow for me..no room for improvement..tapi alhamdulillah, Allah adakan seseorang yang dekat dengan along untuk kembalikan kekuatan…cuma, along memang percaya yang sumber kekuatan hakiki adalah Allah SWT..tiada selainNya.

Imbas kembali, masa along kena buat satu syndicate ni..untuk Biochemistry…masa tu along ke Burnell..seriously, along memang tak tahu nak buat syndicate tu..dan along discuss dengan che ta dalam keadaan masa tu kita berdua memang mengantuk tahap maksimum…huhuhu~~

Sekadar sorotan along memandangkan ia adalah satu pengalaman bermakna buat along:

Scenario:

Elisa, a 20 year old student feels unwell and weak; she complains of stomach ache and nausea. She is a high achiever and exercises regularly to keep fit. Her parents are a bit concerned that she looks underweight. Elisa has other concerns and decides to take matters into her own hands!

Basically, along memang tension sikit lepas dapat case study ni ..and sadly to say, I was so blurred the first time I got this task..pity me!

Along: Che ta, ni ada a few info pasal patient ni..nama dia Elisa…along kena kaji pasal penyakit dia..dia ni kira aktif jugak la..tapi lately dia discover something not right..so, dia ada buat beberapa medical examinations..mcm urine test, pregnancy test..etc…along tak sure nak explain macam mana..in terms of the biochemical principles behind the home diagnostic tests Elisa got..(gaya orang tension dan risau)

Che ta: Cuba tengok results untuk semua tests yang patient tu buat..che ta rasa patient ni mungkin dapat DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis)..tengoklah blood test dia..ALP and GGT levels tinggi sangat ni..along tau kan setiap test tu measure atau indicate something?

Along: Tahu la kot sikit-sikit..sebab ada diberi background info pasal setiap test tu..ALP indicates apa..GGT and semua-semualah yang seangkatan dengannya..basically pasal liver function test…I guess so!

Che ta: Hm..if nak diikutkan pada results dia ni…che ta rasa Elisa’s possibility is “undiagnosed DKA precipitated by acute hepatitis.”

Along: Oic..perhaps..as far as I know..kalau ada –tis kat belakang tu..means ada infection atau inflammation la kan che ta? If hepatitis..hepa normally refers to liver la kan?

Probably, no more going to Syaikh Abu Ayman’s Tafseer Class…I have no companion now…huhu, what a sad thing…I’ll cherish the moments we had had together in my mind…once again, a bunch of thanks to my lovely aunt..back in Melbourne..inshaAllah, till we meet again…somewhere in the future…if Allah permits…=) along sayang che ta kerana Allah…

Akhiran, along mohon rimbunan kemaafan atas segala ketidakupayaan, ketidaksempurnaan, kepincangan kata-kata atau apa-apa yang mungkin meninggalkan kesan calar di hati che ta. Along masih lagi cuba memperbaiki diri dan inshaAllah berazam untuk menyeru yang lain..doakan along tabah dan kuat hati di sini…life is not always like a bed of roses..i really need to have the strength to face tomorrow..may Allah be with us..Ameen! Wallahu a’laam.

Salam sayang dari kejauhan,
Along
(anak saudara yang banyak kerenah)
